BACK TO THE ESSENTIALS.

"Back to the essentials!" is Fabio Haebel's guiding principle when he passionately talks about his sourdough bakery. At baegeri, the iconic specialty coffee shop with its own bakery, the superb breads are being handcrafted the traditional artisan way. First-class quality and sustainability are top priorities here, so it's no surprise/ it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that the baked goods are transported by cargobike to their customers in the restaurant or to the weekly market.

Traditionally made sourdough breads contain up to 300 flavorings. In the baegeri bakery, the traditional production process is openly celebrated, so that when you enter, you are immediately seduced by the sensational aroma of freshly baked bread.

"THE MOBILITY SITUATION IN MANY PARTS OF HAMBURG IS STILL IN ITS INFANCY. I THINK WE CAN IMPROVE A LOT HERE!"

The baegeri team uses cargobikes for daily errands and deliveries. Fabio Haebel, the founder of the café, does this out of pure conviction, because he believes in success through quality and sustainability. The dual effect: in addition to his own contribution to the mobility change, riding the E-Cargoville simply is a lot of fun.

"THE LOOK, SMELL AND TASTE OF FRESHLY BAKED BREAD HAS ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED ME. IN MY RESTAURANTS, HIGH QUALITY BREAD HAS THEREFORE ALWAYS BEEN VERY IMPORTANT TO ME."

To guarantee the perfect taste experience, Fabio Haebel makes no compromises. He is always in search for the best ingredients and for new or traditional processes for the in-house production of his specialties.

The fresh bread loafs, once cooled off and ready for transport, go into bread crates and are then delivered by cargo bike. This way, the master baker also gets a welcome breath of fresh air after his work at the oven is done.

Fabio Haebel is convinced that entrenched behavior patterns need to be broken down and that inner-city mobility should be focused more on bicycles. When Haebel approaches the weekly market with several bakery crates stacked on top of each other on his cargobike, he attracts many curious glances. He reaches his market stand without having to search for a parking space, but in the best of moods. He then passes this on to his customers, together with a freshly baked loaf of bread.
